Girls Rock the Capital

Girls Rock the Capital is an opportunity for girls ages 15-18 to get a behind-the-scenes look at state politics by pairing them with a female state representative to shadow through legislative sessions. Girls sit in on committee meetings, watch House sessions, and witness debates about bills and laws that directly affect Vermont. The program is fairly intensive, so participants should be mature, responsible and interested in advocacy and political service. It includes a fall weekend training retreat, a January introduction to their legislative mentors, a three-day overnight at the State House, and March and April State House visits. Talk to Sue for more details.
